supersize me

Just finished watching the movie Supersize Me and I was truly dismayed and revolted. Fast food is an easy choice, especially as time is at a premium these days. Two parents workings, rushing kids from one after-school activity to another, and so on. Monday to Sunday becomes a blur that races by every week. Unfortunately the price we pay for convenience (fast food as a time-saving device) is an unhealthy diet.
Particularly jarring in the movie was realizing how much McDonald's markets to children - something I hadn't ever really thought about. Just like major tobacco marketing to teenagers in the far east, McDonalds is indoctrinating the youth of America. I guess the play sets should have been the clue.
Watching Morgan Spurlock turn his liver into paté within 15 days of his McD's binge was horrific. Like most other people, I really didn't give fast food too much thought. Well, maybe a thought or two after listening to a Ben Elton sketch about McD's.: "They tell you how good it tastes but not how bad you'll feel!" But now, even the thought of eating a fat-saturated deep-fried meal makes me feel nauseated.
See the movie - it could change your life.
