What an excellent article by D. Keith Robinson "Thinking Differently About Site Mapping and Navigation" I particularly like the concept of the sitemap where the home page is the centre of the hub. This seems more in tune with the web concept. Mind the findability factor - it may come as a shock to realize that all viewers don't start their journey through your site at the home page.

Elektra ...
We went to see the movie "Elektra" on Saturday night - a movie I had eagerly anticipated being a fan of the comics (hmmm... graphic novels?) Anyway, the movie was overall enjoyable but I still have the nagging feeling that they aren't quite getting the character right. Don't get me wrong - I really liked Jennifer Garner as Elektra but I always felt the character was more angry, more bitter than how she portrayed her. And why not? The story of Elektra is based on hate and revenge so it makes sense that she should be angry, bitter, gritty.
I am really getting drawn to martial arts movies - especially ones where chicks kick butt. This film was very much centred around the strong females - the older, more-experienced warrior and the young protege. Although enjoyable the plot seemed bare, thin in parts, like the story wasn't given the time to develop fully.
Still, worth it to see. 4 stars out of 5.
24 ...
I am so turning into a couch vegetable. The season premiere of 24 just got over and I'm hooked, again. In my opinion - this has got to be the best drama/adventure on the tube, hands down. So far, the four episodes have been nail biters. Right on Jack and co.

Happy New Year! With the new year comes new resolve. Although I’ve been fencing for about 15 years (and foil is my weapon of choice) I’ve been kind of on hiaitus for the past couple of seasons – not really training or participating in tournaments. When I stopped I had to stop because I was burnt out on the sport (training, coaching, competing, managing our Canada Games team…) but the hardest part now is getting re-motivated to return. I trained last fall for a couple of months and competed in a tournament but haven’t really committed to returning since late October. I don’t want to quit the sport so I don’t know why I don’t go in to the club every week. Surely I can’t be that lazy.
So one of my 43 things goals is going to be attend at least 2 more tournaments this season which in turn is going to require a commitment to training.
