D and I went to see Constantine on Friday night. Although Keanu Reeves simply cannot act the movie was pretty good. I liked the story treatment, the special effects, the story concept - and although I am a fan of comics/graphic novels, Hellblazer is one I hadn't read before.

So what was up with Keanu? It took him until practically the end of the movie before being able to instill a bit of "believable" feeling into his character. Because his character is the principal role it made the movie a bit hard to watch however, the supporting actors made up for the lack. I haven't decided who my favorite character is yet...either Balthazar (portrayed by Gavin Rossdale) or the ultracool Midnite (Djimon Hounsou). And Shia LaBeouf was excellent as Chas the sidekick.

I think I might seek out the comic...

Overall enjoyable - I give it 4 stars out of 5.
